Dr. Leanna FennebergDr. Leanna Fenneberg joined Rider University as Vice President for Student Affairs in 2017, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in higher education and student affairs. As Vice President for Student Affairs, she is responsible for promoting student learning and student success among a diverse community of students. Dr. Fenneberg provided leadership for the development and implementation of the campus-wide strategic Inclusive Excellence Plan and establishment of a physical Center for Diversity and Inclusion for students among other efforts to amplify the success of marginalized students. In this time, Rider University received recognition by Campus Pride as an LGBTQ+-friendly campus, by the Center for First-generation Success as a First-Gen Forward institution, and by ACPA and Diverse Issues as a Most Promising Place to Work in Student Affairs.

Prior to this role she spent nearly two decades in Jesuit, Catholic higher education, developing a foundational grounding in promoting social justice and engaging reflection in action. Primary leadership contributions and areas of professional focus include diversity, equity and inclusion, academic and student affairs partnerships, women’s issues, assessment of student learning, and first-year experience and student success and retention; topics on which she’s contributed dozens of professional presentations. Dr. Fenneberg was recognized as a First-Year Student Advocate by the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition. She has served as faculty in student affairs masters and doctoral programs. Her service-orientation extends professionally where Dr. Fenneberg has served in NASPA, Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, in roles including member of the Board of Directors as National Director of Knowledge Communities (current) and prior roles as Co-Chair for the Womxn in Student Affairs (WISA) Knowledge Community and Co-Chair of the Student Affairs Partnering with Academic Affairs (SAPAA) Knowledge Community.
