Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct faculty member to teach MUSIC 210L, Musicianship II, in Fall 2024.

 

This course will be taught in person, on campus.

 

Mondays & Wednesdays, 12:05-1:10pm

 

This course focuses on learning to visually and aurally identify musical intervals to develop musicianship generally, and sight-reading, specifically. Class and homework activity will include analyzing and singing simple melodies on sight with increasing difficulty

 

Building upon 200L, students dive deeper into aural skills including chromaticism and modes.

 

Qualifications:

 

We seek an instructor of music whose primary experience and training lies in choral accompaniment, in all styles and genres. Equally important is a background in Estill Voice Training (EVT), including instruction of EVT concepts at the college level and in the context of both choral and soloist coaching. Applicants should also have mastery of IPA. Masters degree in the area of keyboard studies is required.

 

Candidates must reside in California.

 

Salary: $2,482 - $3,436 depending on qualifications

 

The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available
