Qualifications:

Introduction to Psychology introduces students to the science of how people think, feel, and behave. The course explores classic and contemporary research on such topics as the biological aspects of behavior; cognitive, personality, social, cultural, and developmental psychology; and psychopathology. Through the use of the scientific method, students will learn how psychology informs our understanding of what it means to be human. This is a 4 unit undergraduate course.

This course will be taught in person on the Moraga campus during the 2024 Fall term on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 - 9:05 am.

In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.

The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in Psychology, and undergraduate teaching experience in Psychology or a closely related field. Candidates should have a successful record of teaching experience at the undergraduate. Preference will be given to those who have previously taught the course, or Psych 001, Psych 140, Psych 150, or Psych 160.

Candidates must reside in California.

The salary range for this position is $9,932 - $13,344 (4 units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iMq54hZVvyJovI2FtEnCVQKpNqW7J8ed/view?usp=share_link.
