SUNY Old Westbury seeks a data-driven Graduate and Adult Enrollment Recruiter with superior interpersonal skills, a commitment to the mission of SUNY Old Westbury (OW) and an understanding of the market and needs of adult learners.  The primary responsibility of this role is to identify, recruit, and enroll qualified students into our graduate programs in education, arts and sciences and business.  The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the education industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The Graduate and Adult Enrollment Recruiter will develop relationships with schools and school districts throughout the New York region, as well as with universities whose graduates wish to enter master's degree and certification programs.  This position will also engage and develop relationships with businesses to market and obtain prospects for OW's graduate and certification programs.  The recruiter will manage a portfolio of prospects from inquiry through enrollment working collaboratively with Enrollment Management (Financial Aid, Admissions, and Orientation) the School of Education, the School of Business, the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Professional Studies to ensure clarity regarding program features and benefits.  Overall, the Graduate and Adult Enrollment Recruiter handles all recruitment activities for the aforementioned entities to encompass yearly planning, marketing, data analysis; and works with all prospective students, collaborates with faculty, builds relationships with employers/businesses, partner institutions and; fosters community relationships.  The successful candidate will possess a genuine enthusiasm for recruitment work, deploy a creative and personable enrollment approach and understand the value of professional collaboration within a student-centered environment.

The Graduate and Adult Enrollment Recruiter will serve with a team of highly capable professionals, all committed to the mission, and under the overall direction of the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing.  Successful candidates will have a track record of results and/or a demonstrated capacity to convert prospective adult learners into enrolled students in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and target potential students for enrollment in our graduate and adult programs.  Create and maintain relationships with schools, businesses, organizations, professional networks, non-profits, and other organizations to identify and cultivate academic and prospective student pathways.
  • Coordinate and conduct recruitment events and activities, including college fairs and information sessions.  This may include the following: plan and execute on-and-off campus recruitment events, virtual and in-person interview days, and travel to feeder schools, employers and essential conferences and events for enrollment, networking, and visibility purposes.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with external partners, including schools and school districts, teacher education projects, and universities.
  • Communicate with potential students via phone, email, and in-person to discuss program offerings and answer questions.
  • Assist with the application process and provide support to prospective students throughout the enrollment process.
  • Collaborate with admissions and enrollment teams to ensure successful enrollment and retention of students.
  • Monitor and track recruitment and enrollment metrics and report findings to management.
  • Assists the Vice President by working proactively with the academic graduate academic Program Directors to coordinate and promote graduate policies, procedures, and ensures enrollment goals are met.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in student recruitment and enrollment.
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, from an accredited college/university, in education, marketing, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of full-time professional experience in admissions, advisement, recruiting, educational outreach (secondary education) or sales role.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills.  Proven ability to be culturally adaptable and work well in diverse environments and with diverse clientele.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and proven ability to learn and use new technology, including social media and university systems.
  • Data driven and familiarity with reporting and analysis.
  • Able to work non-standard/varied working hours and to travel independently.
  • Must have and maintain the appropriate valid New York State driver's license and have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree, from an accredited college/university, in education, marketing, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of full-time professional experience in student recruitment and enrollment, preferably in higher education.
  • Two or more years of professional experience with Slate or other CRM tools, specifically event and communication management.
  • Experience in developing marketing or recruitment campaigns with an emphasis on the utilization of multiple tools to reach target market(s).

 


Additional Information:

Salary Range:  $53,151.00 - $64,000.00, based on experience.
