Description:

The Politics Department seeks a visiting professor for a one year position for the 2024-2025 academic year starting July 1, 2024 to teach international and comparative politics courses. The position carries a teaching load of four 4 credit courses, two 1 credit courses, and departmental service. The two four credit courses to be taught in Fall of 2024 are Introduction to Comparative Politics and one other international relations course such as U.S. foreign policy, Dynamics of Terrorism, or any upper division course related to the candidate's expertise. A single 1 credit practicum course called “Democracy Lab” is related to the upcoming election. The two courses in the Spring of 2025 are Introduction to World Politics and Middle East Politics. The 1 credit course is called “Social Justice Speakers.” The position comes with both advising and departmental service expectations.

Salary: $75,522 - $101,929 for a 25 unit workload, depending on qualifications.

Qualifications:

 

Candidates with PhD in hand and prior successful teaching experience are preferred, but ABD candidates are also encouraged to apply.
