Per course adjunct faculty for the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership, EDAD 811-01.

EDAD 811 Leadership for Equity (3)

 

Meeting dates: Apr 5-6 Apr 19-20 May 3-4

 

This course is designed to create and enhance learners’ understanding of the influence and impact of race, gender, ethnicity, social class, sexual orientation, religion, age, and disability on their educational settings and their leadership styles. It will also support learners’ understanding of and engagement with issues of equity and social justice within the educational system in America. Additionally, learners will review, critically assess, and synthesize appropriate theoretical frameworks, epistemologies, and pertinent research literature to support their participatory action research projects.

 

Required Qualifications

 

Candidates must have a master’s degree or doctorate in education, educational leadership, teaching leadership, or a related field. Candidates must also have experience teaching at the higher education level.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

A demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and equity, that ensures candidates understand pedagogical approaches that recognize the importance of supporting all students, especially students from historically underserved communities.
