DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS’ COMMUNICATIONSAthletics, Physical Education, and Recreation (DAPER)-Administration, to report directly to the director of athletics and department head of DAPER and serve on the senior leadership team of DAPER, which includes strategic planning, serving on DAPER and campus-wide committees, decision making relative to the department, and representing the department at various functions. Will directly supervise a staff of three full-time employees and hire and train interns and contracted services staff in supporting a broad-based program that fields twenty-nine NCAA Division III varsity teams and four Division I rowing teams. General responsibilities include the overall supervision, organization, and management of the DAPER Athletics Communications Office and public relations functions of the varsity athletics programs; and supporting the development, coordination, and implementation of effective communication strategies and initiatives that create recognition of the achievements, programs, teams, and participants across the spectrum of DAPER programming.

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; four years’ athletic promotions, sports information, communications, promotions, or related field, preferably at the college or university level; excellent administrative, organizational, written, interpersonal, and computer skills; attention to detail; ability to problem solve; and working knowledge of statistical programs, current design and desktop publishing software, and website maintenance. PREFERRED:  master’s degree.  Job #23847-8

Salary range: high $80,000 – 100,000

This position requires working weekend and evening hours and occasional travel.
