Albion College invites applications for the Director of Community Living and Student Conduct (DCLSC). This position is responsible for providing visionary leadership and direction to support the growth of students consistent with the philosophies and goals of Albion College, Division of Student Development and Office of Community Living.  Oversight of a comprehensive residential education curriculum program, student conduct administration with a restorative practices framework, and housing operations. The DCLSC administers and manages: student housing; departmental operations and budget; the student conduct process; departmental goals, student learning outcomes and assessment of best practices for a holistic residential experience centered around purposeful community development and belonging. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize, and assess a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. The DCLSC will actively promote belonging and mattering through critical and compassionate communication and strategic outreach efforts to various students, faculty and staff (e.g., historically under-represented, first-generation, undocumented and DACA students, LGBTQ students).

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in student personnel or related field required
  • Seven or more years of progressive responsibility in higher education focused on residential education, residential administration, and student conduct. Based on background, the additional title of Assistant Dean for Community Living and Student Conduct will be considered for this role for highly qualified candidates.
  • Experience supervising professional staff
