The Assistant Director of Sports Performance is responsible for assisting the Assistant AD for Sports Performance with designing, developing, implementing, administering, and evaluating a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for all student-athletes. Work collaboratively with coaches, sports medicine staff, kinesiology, faculty, and other campus entities to ensure the use of the latest technologies and testing methodologies, providing our student athletes with the best strength and conditioning resources possible. Work collaboratively with coaches and sports medicine staff to effectively communicate injury prevention and rehabilitation. Work collaboratively with Graduate Kinesiology to continue the development and implementation of an internship program, by recruiting potential graduate student interns, developing curriculum to ensure that they meet their academic requirements, and mentor them in all areas of Sports Performance. Be responsible for the management and supervision of weight room serving including equipment maintenance, inventory control, facility supervisors and risk managment.

 

Know, recognize, and comply with the laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing the College and its employees, and the rules of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Supervise and ensure that any assistants and another other employees and/or volunteers for whom you are administratively responsible comply with policies, rules and regulations. Immediately advise the VP for Intercollegiate Athletics if you have reasonable cause to believe violations, whether by employees or students, have occurred or will occur.

Requirements

Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in related field, and or equivalent training, knowledge and experience. PREFERRED: Master's degree in related field.

 

Experience: Three to five years of leadership experience working in Strength and Conditioning programs.

 

Skills/Abilities: Microsoft word, Excel, Photoshop, In Design

 

Other: Travel and weekend/evening work

 

Salary Description $68,084
