The Department of Athletics invites applicants for the position of Assistant Softball Coach. This is a full-time, salaried, 12-month position with full benefits.

    The Assistant Coach is responsible for fulfilling all duties associated with successful coaching at the college level. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to be a positive role model and representative of the university. This position requires the ability to travel extensively on both weekdays and weekends.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Assist the head softball coach in fulfilling all responsibilities associated with successful coaching at the college level
    • Coach and demonstrate high level advanced softball skills
    • Assist in recruitment of student athletes
    • Assist with developing and running fundraising events
    • Prepare scouting reports
    • Assist with branding and promoting program through social media
    • Oversee Teamworks software as it relates to CARA
    • Follow and demonstrate support for all policies and regulations of West Chester University, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association
    • Travel for recruiting and competition
    • Perform other duties as assigned

     

  • Minimum Qualifications

  •  

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Previous college coaching experience

     

  • Preferred Qualifications

  •  

    • Previous college coaching experience with pitcher and/or catcher positions; and/or
    • Demonstrated experience using technology available for softball practices and games

     

  • Special Instructions

 

This is a full-time, salaried, 12-month position with full benefits. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience with additional income possible by conducting mandatory summer camps.
