Job Summary:
- Plan, advertise and direct Orientation and Welcome Week programs in the spring and fall semester.
- Serve as a liaison between Admissions and Student Affairs regarding Quest Days and other new student recruitment events.
- Manage all aspects of the Ivy Chain ceremony, including marketing the event, managing RSVPs, communicating with all involved stakeholders and executing the event.
- Serve on the Homecoming Steering Committee and assist with leading the planning and coordination of the events, including Fall Formal.
- Assist with the planning and execution of Hey Day.
- Recruit, train, supervise and provide leadership to the First Year Mentors.
- Serve on the committee for the COLL 133 Foundations course.
- Prepare and submit the relevant budgets annually.
- Maintain relevant websites, web pages, and social media accounts.
- Collaborate with other departments within Student Affairs to plan and execute various events, as requested.
- Serve as a staff advisor for the Campus Activities Board (CAB) student organization.
- Organize and facilitate on-going events and activities to increase student engagement on campus.
- Attend major college functions, including but not limited to Homecoming, Quest Days, Welcome Week, College Visitation events, Ivy Chain, Late Night Breakfast, and Student Affairs Night of Recognition.
- Practice superior customer service.
- Serve on division and college committees as requested.
- Perform job duties and responsibilities as assigned, in accordance with Columbia College's vision, mission and values, and contributes to the development of the Division of Student Affairs.

Required Core Competencies and Professional Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in planning large-scale events including: communication with various stakeholders, experience with developing marketing pieces, and arranging all of the necessary logistics to deliver a success event.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must be able to work independently and exercise excellent judgement.
- Proficiency with the following, but not limited to: active listening; speaking; writing; critical thinking; judgment and decision making; monitoring; reading comprehension; time management; coordination; and management of personnel resources.
- Proficiency for using a variety of computer and technology-related software and equipment, including Microsoft Office products and database systems.
- Proficiency in using web-based technologies, including database systems.
- Ability to work in a team environment, with or without direct supervision.

- The employee must be able to lift and carry at least 25lbs.
