Qualifications:
In this laboratory, students gain hands-on experience with the topics discussed in Physics I (Newtonian mechanics, vibrations and oscillations, waves and sound, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, simple circuits and optics), concurrent enrollment required. Additionally, students are introduced to methods of experimentation in physics including good measurement techniques, simple data analysis and scientific writing.
This Laboratory is taught in person on the Moraga campus on Tuesday from 5:30 - 8:30 pm during the Fall 2025 term.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular in-person (or virtual) office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
Candidates must hold a PhD in Physics, Astronomy, or Astrophysics, have a record of successful teaching at the undergraduate level.
Candidates must reside in California.
The salary range for this position is $6,207.50 - 8,590.00 (2.5 units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iMq54hZVvyJovI2FtEnCVQKpNqW7J8ed/view?usp=sharing.
