Ironwood, MI United StatesGogebic Community College seeks candidates for a full-time Registrar at our Ironwood, Michigan campus. The starting salary for this position is $65,361.69 annually (nonaffiliated Grade 7/Initial Step). The Registrar oversees student registration, academic
records, and compliance with institutional and external regulations. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and collaboration with faculty, staff, and students to
support academic success. The Registrar reports to the Vice President of Student Services and Athletics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Import new student information, maintaining accurate student records, and monitoring records for graduation requirements
• Ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of student information
• Recommend and implement policies and procedures for student registration, class schedules, and graduation requirements
• Maintain and upgrade academic records archives, online student databases, and other electronic databases
• Compile data for surveys and reports, and creating and generating reports
• Maintain the official college course classification
• Develop, publish and maintain major college information documents, such as the college catalog and collaboration on class schedules
• Establish and enforce security procedures for all paper, microfiche, and electronic records
• Recommend and implement policies and procedures for credit for prior learning, including but not limited to transfer coursework, CLEP, AP and credit by examination and/or portfolio.
• Serve as the Advising Module Manager and Registration Module Manager for Jenzabar.
• Ensure all memorandums of understanding and articulation agreements meet accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
• Regularly assess the effectiveness of articulation agreements, identifying and resolving any issues related to student transfers, credit recognition, or program alignment.
• Work closely with academic leaders, faculty, and departments to align program curricula and ensure that transfer paths meet the needs of students. Serve on college committees such as GCC Curriculum Committee.
• Develop and promote clear communication strategies for students to understand the transfer options available, including advising and guidance related to the articulation agreements.
• Participate in campus activities related to student success and retention.
• Other duties as assigned.
Ability to:
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of student information.
• Exhibit excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing, experience with presentations, and customer service.
• Work independently with an excellent level of accuracy and detail.
• Use good, independent judgment in handling sensitive and difficult situations.
Knowledge of:
• Significant experience in database management, web-based registration, and report analysis.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree OR equivalent experience in an institution of higher education required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters degree
• 2-3 years of experience in a Registrars Office.
