This is an entry level position. 

Under the supervision of the Director of Residential Life, the Residence Hall Director (RHD) is responsible for coordinating the operation of one or more co-ed residence hall facilities of about 200 residents; supervising Resident Assistants (RA); and coordinating services and programs that produce a residential experience that ensures the quality of life, well-being and personal development for about 850 diverse students residing in the residence halls.  Residence halls operate on a twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week basis.  The Residence Hall Director participates in weekend and evening assignments throughout the year.  This is a full-time, 12-month, live-in position (one-bedroom apartment, bathroom, and a combined living room kitchen area).  

 


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) and 0-3 years of appropriate work experience.  Demonstrated supervisory, management, and leadership experience.  Desirable characteristics include excellent communication skills, a well-developed sense of responsibility, maturity, sensitivity to diversity, inclusion and individual differences, experience in problem solving/problem resolution, enthusiasm for working with students, and an understanding of issues facing college students. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree.  Demonstrated experience in a collegiate residential life program.  Have and maintain the appropriate valid NYS driver's license and have a motor vehicle record that is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations.

Please note that the Residence Hall Director position does not lead to permanent appointment.

Salary:  $49,261.00 plus  location pay $3,400.00
