Assistant Director, Academic and Career Advising for Professional and Continuing Education

Position Purpose:

This position coordinates and implements academic and career advising services for Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) students, including adult learners pursuing degree completion or certificates and traditional-age students enrolled in PaCE courses. Serving as a primary point of contact from onboarding through graduation, the position provides support related to admissions, financial aid access, academic planning, career development, registration, and student success.

The incumbent collaborates closely with the PaCE recruitment team to support prospective students, align recruitment messaging, and contribute to outreach events and communications. The position serves as a campus resource on adult learner success, providing expertise and leadership to faculty and staff to enhance retention, persistence, student achievement, and career success. As a member of cross-divisional leadership teams, the position contributes to the development of services, policies, and initiatives that support holistic career and academic advising.

This is a full-time, overtime eligible position in Professional and Continuing Education on the Olympia campus of The Evergreen State College. This position is an “at-will” appointment, exempt from Washington State Civil Service rules.

Salary and Benefits: $5,197 – $5,461 per month of full-time work + excellent benefits including paid sick and vacation leave; paid campus holidays; a generous medical, dental, life and disability insurance package for employees and dependents; retirement; optional deferred compensation and optional supplemental retirement accounts.
