Qualifications:

 

ACCTG 608.01 Advanced Legal Issues and Regulatory Framework

 

Summer Quarter, 07/08/2024 – 09/14/2024. Meets in-person every other Saturday 7/13, 7/27, 8/10, 8/24, 9/7, 9/14 (Last two Saturday classes are back-to-back) 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM and online every Monday evening, 7/15 - 9/09, 7:00-9:00 PM.

 

Course Description:

 

This course examines the legal implications of business transactions, particularly as they relate to accounting, auditing and financial reporting. In addition, students are required to apply the knowledge gained to evaluate the economic substance of client transactions, including purchase agreements, loans and promissory notes, sales contracts, leases and commitments. Oral and written communication skills and professional research skills are emphasized.

 

Qualifications:

 

Candidates must have a Master's or Ph.D. preferred in a relevant area of accounting discipline.

 

Candidates should have a successful record of teaching experience at the undergraduate level and experience/familiarity with online/hybrid instruction in order to prepare for contingencies. This position requires all course work to be performed in the state of California. Candidates must perform all course-related work within the state of California.

 

The salary range for this position is $7,447 -$10,008 dependent on qualifications.
