Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Student Conduct, the Associate Director is the University liaison for campus and community partners and provides administrative support in handling confidential and sensitive student conduct matters. This position helps to oversee the case management, training, assessment, policy, and records for the department; assists with the supervision of staff including the Assistant Director for Case Management; and helps to write and review policy, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations; and evaluate conduct reports for personal and community risk and safety.  

The ideal candidate will demonstrate progressive experience adjudicating student conduct issues; demonstrated assessment of student learning; and a commitment to successfully collaborating with campus constituents to support student success and inclusion, equity, and diversity.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and evaluate staff and student staff   
  • Serve as the liaison with campus partners regarding case management issues including performance regarding protocol and procedures
  • Oversee program effectiveness assessment efforts for student and staff learning outcomes
  • Collaborate with members of the University community, to foster a community that reinforces the University's Value Statement
  • Collaborate to establish policies, procedures and protocols when responding to students involved in incidents which threaten the safety and security of students
  • Review, contribute to, and execute decisions related to outcomes associated with the Student Conduct and Admissions clearance process
  • Coordinate sexual misconduct hearings including notification, facilitation, and outcomes to all parties and ensure federal compliance
  • Create and oversee departmental policies and procedures, providing a leadership role with the staff to ensure compliance regarding students’ rights and services with Title IX, Title II, Clery Act, Campus SaVE, and FERPA, and other legislation 
  • Serve as the University liaison to ensure that violations and/or serious issues in the surrounding community are addressed by the University
  • Oversee campus recruitment and training for internal and external campus partners.
  • Ensure compliance with the record retention policy including an annual review of student conduct records
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in degree in Student Development, Higher Education, Counseling, Policy, Law, or related field
  • Five (5) years of combined and progressive professional experience in student conduct, residence life and / or law

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Title IX policies, procedures, and Clery compliance
  • Experience with data analytics 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Maxient or other student conduct software
  • Demonstrated experience addressing behavior with a learning outcome focus

Special Instructions

This position works primarily on campus but can be up to 20% remote.   

The salary range for this position is $72,189 to $81,604.
