The Counseling Services (CS) Associate Director of Clinical Services is a full time, 12-month position that supports the Center for Student Health and Counseling’s mission to enhance learning and student success by advancing the health and well-being of PSU students. They will work within a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals within an integrated health and counseling center. This position along with the CS Associate Director of Campus Engagement/Outreach serves as a member of the Counseling Services administrative team and reports to the Director of Counseling Services. Responsibilities include: (1) oversight of CS day-to-day operations (initial consultation/triage, emergency services, case assignment/management, and clinical consultation/support to CS staff); (2) developing, maintaining, and monitoring the infrastructure for the center’s clinical care system; (3) compiling CS utilization reviews and analysis to inform clinical service delivery practices and policies; and (4) managing the center’s electronic record system (Point and Click), including maintaining the accurate collection of records and statistics to provide information for decision-making and feedback to staff as well as quality assurance of documentation.

In addition to the clinical leadership responsibilities outlined above, the CS Associate Director of Clinical Services will provide some direct clinical service to students and administrative and clinical supervision to CS staff. In the absence of the Director, the CS Associate Directors will be responsible for oversight of all CS operations. The successful candidate will value a multifaceted approach involving strongly linked clinical and training efforts, data-driven organizational management, consultation with the campus, mental health prevention/early intervention, multicultural values/awareness and collaborative campus connections.

Miniumum Qualifications: 

  • Advanced degree in a mental health discipline (e.g., counseling, psychology, social work, or related field)
  • Current Oregon license or eligible upon hire (Ph.D, PsyD, LCSW, LPC, LMFT)
  • Three or more years of post degree experience in providing comprehensive counseling services with demonstrated commitment and care to providing culturally responsive clinical services and outreach services to traditionally underserved populations
  • Two years experience providing supervision and clinical guidance to licensed mental health providers and/or clinical trainees

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Administrative/clinical program leadership experience
  • Personnel management experience
  • Bilingual or multilingual counseling skills
  • Strong assessment and database management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with colleagues and clients
  • Experience working on an interdisciplinary team of health and mental health professionals
