The Counseling Services (CS) Associate Director, Campus Engagement/Outreach is a full time, 12-month position that supports the Center for Student Health and Counseling’s mission to enhance learning and student success by advancing the health and well-being of PSU students. They will work within a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals within an integrated health and counseling center. This position along with the Associate Director of Clinical Services serve as a member of the Counseling Services administrative team and reports to the Director of Counseling Services. The CS Associate Director, Campus Engagement/Outreach are responsible for the overall management of campus-wide mental health outreach and programming as well as CS group, support group, and workshop offerings.

Responsibilities include:
(1) oversight of campus-wide mental health outreach programs and services,
(2) building and maintaining collaborative campus liaison relationships,
(3) programming and outreach coordination with SHAC Health Promotion,
(4) development and oversight of CS group offerings (e.g., clinical groups, drop in, support groups) and
(5) development and oversight of CS trainee outreach training and CS staff professional development training.

In addition, the CS Associate Director of Campus Engagement/Outreach will provide some direct clinical service to students and administrative and clinical supervision to CS staff. In the absence of the Director, the CS Associate Directors will be responsible for oversight of all CS operations. The successful candidate will value a multifaceted approach involving strongly linked clinical and training efforts, data-driven organizational management, consultation with the campus, mental health prevention/early intervention, multicultural values/awareness and collaborative campus connections.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a mental health discipline (e.g., counseling, psychology, social work, or related field)
  • Current Oregon license or eligible upon hire (Ph.D, PsyD, LCSW, LPC, LMFT)
  • Three or more years of post degree experience in providing comprehensive counseling services with demonstrated commitment and care to providing culturally responsive clinical services and outreach services to traditionally underserved populations
  • Two years experience providing supervision and clinical guidance to licensed mental health providers and/or clinical trainees

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with coordination and/or leadership of mental health outreach and prevention programs
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with communities/organizations/departments to promote mental health/wellbeing
  • Personnel management experience
  • Bilingual or multilingual counseling skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with colleagues and clients
  • Experience working on an interdisciplinary team of health and mental health professionals
