Assistant Director for Career Fairs

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR CAREER FAIRS, Career Advising and Professional Development (CAPD), to oversee and coordinate career fairs or other large-scale employer engagement events.  Will provide central leadership and coordination for career fairs held at the Institute, working closely with student organizations, academic departments, and other offices; recruit, train, and supervise student leaders running MIT’s largest fair, the Fall Career Fair; and collaborate with the Student Organizations, Leadership and Engagement Office (SOLE), Facilities, and other offices in providing advice to student organizations on running career fairs and manage finances for the Fall Career Fair in collaboration with the director of finance in the Office of the Vice Chancellor.  Will report to the senior associate director for career services and operations and supervise student leaders running career fairs and possibly an intern or student worker on projects.? CAPD is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and providing excellence in service to our diverse and multinational student, postdoc, and alumni populations. All staff members are expected to employ culturally adaptive practices in their area of expertise and contribute to an inclusive work environment.  

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree with an emphasis in student affairs, higher education, human resource management, or related field; and at least five years of experience leading a team to run large scale events, managing large budgets, and working in a higher education or other relevant industry. The position offers a flexible and hybrid work schedule within CAPD’s business needs.

Salary range: $69,100-82,000 (commensurate with experience).
