Job Description:

Performs routine custodial duties and minor repairs of equipment and facilities in all areas of Recreation and Wellness as required and assigned.

This position/classification may be moved at management's discretion within the SDES division to a commensurate level position as determined by the Vice President of Student Development and Enrollment Services or his/her designee.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the cleaning of all indoor facilities except those designated areas which are maintained by other departments. Cleaning and maintaining will consist of cleaning and sanitizing locker rooms and bathrooms, floor care throughout the facilities (vacuuming, shampooing, mopping, stripping, buffing, burnishing, and applying floor finish) including basketball courts. Cleaning and dusting of all furniture and fixed furnishings, furniture fabric, cleaning and dusting of window coverings, window washing, and any other items as required.

  • Responsible for the cleaning of all outdoor facilities, pools, decks, trash, cleaning Lake Claire, sidewalks, patio's, boardwalks, etc.

  • May require assisting in a variety of maintenance and miscellaneous repairs. Assist in set-ups and take-down of equipment for programs and activities as needed. This may include moving stage equipment, audio-visual equipment tables, chairs, lighting equipment, etc.

  • Performs related work as required and assigned.

UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.

$22,968 to Negotiable

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of 9th grade

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates willing and able to learn to operate cleaning and maintenance equipment.

Able to fulfill physical requirements of this role, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Equipment used for this position: Cleaning equipment 95%; Gator 3%; Maintenance Tools 2%

The selected candidate for this position must be willing to get CPR/First Aid Certified.

The selected candidate for this position must be able to follow verbal/oral instructions. Must be willing and capable of learning to operate cleaning and maintenance equipment.

Some of the physical duties for this position include:
Ability to climb and work from a step ladder.
Requires repetitive stooping and bending and the ability to lift 50lbs.
May be required to lift more than 50lbs with help.

Shift hours are subject to change as work load and/or areas of responsibilities change.

Health Assessment Required:

UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.
