Residential Life Hall Coordinator – Requires Reappointment

Indiana State University seeks qualified candidates interested in fostering and engaging in a learning-centered community for the position of Residential Life Hall Coordinator. In our residential communities at Indiana State University, we utilize an intentional learning-centered approach to developing a living-learning community of faculty, staff, and students who explore, practice, and act as engaged citizens for the world with a focus upon self-efficacy, inclusive excellence, and professional success. We are seeking scholar-practitioners who see themselves as lifelong learners and have a passion to serve as an educator to both our team members and students in our residential communities.

The Residential Life Hall Coordinator is directly responsible for creating an environment and community that supports the learning, growth, development, and success of students. The hall coordinator is a scholar-practitioner who develops and implements a Residential Curriculum model focusing on the learning goals of self-efficacy, inclusive excellence, and professional success. Under the direction of the Area Coordinator, the Hall Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of at least two graduate assistant hall directors, undergraduate resident assistants/social justice educators, and indirect supervision of undergraduate student desk employees to effectively manage two residence halls within a larger housing complex. Works with the senior leadership team and campus partners to develop and implement an intentionally sequenced, developmentally appropriate residential curriculum and/or academic initiatives. Serves in an on-duty capacity for the entire residential population after-hours and on weekends/holidays. Serve as first-responder in emotional/psychological crises, situations of sexual violence, physical assaults, domestic violence, and issues of conflict. Serves as university conduct officer for students residing in on-campus housing. Assists in managing occupancy and administrative tasks for 2 residence halls or apartment complexes. Serves as primary instructor for one to two courses each academic year. Provides academic success support.

Required Education & Experience: Master’s degree. Degree must be conferred by September 1 of appointment year.
