The Assistant/Associate Director of Student Services serves all residential MBA programs (one-year, two-year, and dual degrees) and plays a key role in the development, ongoing review, and implementation of the strategy and goals for graduate business student services. The Asst./Assoc. Director works closely with Academic Directors and functional stakeholders to guide and support students in their academic journey from matriculation through graduation. Primary responsibilities include planning and delivering new student orientation for multiple MBA programs (one-year, two-year, and dual-degree) as well as international student orientation, providing academic advising, and managing student communication and engagement activities. The Asst./Assoc. Dir. assists with the planning and execution of the annual commencement ceremony and other student events and activities; manages the scheduling and registration processes for the MBA programs; monitors academic progress and performs graduation audits; and maintains calendar, website, and portal information. He/she is also the primary advisor for international students in the MBA program and key liaison with various campus and community partners.


*Collaborate with various other stakeholders to plan and deliver new student orientation for each MBA program (one-year, two-year, and dual degree) as well as international student orientation. This also includes coordinating onboarding communication and activities that help students successfully transition into their programs.

*Serve as academic advisor for all MBA students. Advise them regarding academic performance, course selection, and program, concentration track, and graduation requirements. Provide guidance and build awareness of campus resources such as Disability Services, University Health Services, Counseling Center, Campus Ministries, etc.

*Manage student communication and plan engagement activities, including a weekly student services newsletter and social events. Maintain calendars and update information on the website and student services portal.

*Manage the scheduling and registration processes for the MBA programs. Works closely with the operations team, academic departments, and the registrar's office to create class schedules and coordinate registration for MBA programs. Inform and advise students and prepare informational materials.

*Assist with the planning and execution of the annual commencement ceremony and other student events and activities. Primarily responsible for managing commencement awards and all communication related to the commencement ceremony.

*Serve as the primary advisor for international students in the MBA program, assisting with enrollment verifications and approvals related to CPT and OPT. Liaison with various campus and community partners, including ISSA, Graduate Student Life, DTSB, and others to maintain and improve the overall experience for MBA Students.

*Monitor academic progress and conduct graduation audits by running semester reports and maintaining the Graduation Progress System (GPS). Notify appropriate individuals and offices of any students who are not in good academic standing.

*Collect and provide data and feedback that assists with the evaluation and improvement of the MBA programs and assists with elevating the student experience.


Minimum Qualifications:


• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Higher Education, or similar, with 5 years related work experience.

• Ability to understand and work collaboratively with diverse individuals, including students, faculty, and staff.

• Excellent organizational, planning, and verbal/written communication skills.

• Ability to independently prioritize work, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set goals, while maintaining the flexibility to reassess and prioritize goals.


Preferred Qualifications:


Master’s degree strongly preferred.


Experience in a higher education environment and/or with graduate business students preferred.
