The Elizabethtown College Department of English seeks an online/remote adjunct instructor to deliver diverse and inclusive undergraduate courses in American Literature and Culture (AL&C). The successful applicant will teach courses in AL&C of the following time-period(s): “Beginnings–1865” and/or “1866–Present.” Depending upon departmental needs, the instructor may also teach a themed and/or period-specific AL&C course in their own particular area of specialization.

An earned doctoral degree, from an accredited university, in one or more periods and fields of American Literature and Culture (ABD candidates will be considered). Evidence of scholarly expertise in a field, or fields, of AL&C. Evidence of high-quality teaching experience, including experience delivering all levels of undergraduate courses in AL&C (introductory, intermediate, and advanced). Evidence of experience and expertise in designing in-person and remote instruction. Excellent communication skills. Flexibility and Responsiveness to emerging trends in instructional approaches within higher education.
