The Student Leadership and Involvement Coordinator is primarily responsible for advising, event planning, and program management within the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement. He/she is expected to be a role model, facilitator, leader, and an essential person in the effective process of student life.  This position reports to the Director of Student Leadership and Involvement within the Department of Student Development and Support, which is a part of the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Promote holistic student development through theory-based advising, education, and experiential learning opportunities
  • Supervise student assistants who are responsible for event planning, and program management within the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement.
  • Manage OrgSync student organization database, calendar, and marketing approval process
  • Oversee student organization programs, including but not limited to workshops, trainings, fair, and chair awards ceremony
  • Plan, develop, and implement programs, services, activities, and opportunities for minority students designed to strengthen and expand leadership competencies, Christian faith and community involvement
  • Provide support and training for minority student organizations for the purpose of promoting unity, education, and an inclusive campus community inspired and informed by Christian faith and principles
  • Work with the Multicultural Affairs Committee of SGA to provide diversity peer education for student organizations
  • Advise the Development Branch of the Student Government Association, which includes Class Officers and Freshman Forum
  • Manage Leadership Certificate Program through cadres
  • Assist with marketing of Student Leadership and Involvement programming (including website, social media, and print materials)
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of Leadership and Service convocation
  • Provide oversight of appropriate budget(s) including the SGA Development Branch budgets for Class Officers and Freshman Forum
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners to provide meaningful opportunities for leadership development, including but not limited to the Office of Diversity and Intercultural Initiatives and the Office of Spiritual Life
  • Assist with student leadership programming assessment
  • Represent the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement at recruiting events and new student orientation
  • Provide consulting services to individuals, student groups, and classes, as requested
  • Serve on university committees, as assigned
  • Other duties, as assigned
