Associate Director, Business Law Program (15991)

In collaboration with the Director, the Associate Director will lead and administer American University’s Washington College of Law’s (AUWCL) new and ongoing certificates, degrees, and initiatives related to business law. The Associate Director will pursue entrepreneurial opportunities to enhance educational offerings at WCL, address competitive pressures from other law schools, and grow revenue. The incumbent will also execute events that bring together relevant stakeholders; develop curricula; and teach and advise students.

Required Education and Experience
Juris Doctor
3-5 years of relevant experience
Preferred Education and Experience
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of and extensive contacts within the legal market and prior experience working in a university setting
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Background in and experience working in the field of business law, including demonstrated experience with financial and related compliance and business law and legal doctrine as applied and implemented.
Experience developing academic programs and curricula and teaching and advising students.
Excellent writing, written and oral communication skills.
Commitment to providing high-quality, innovative legal education and supporting the development of law students.
