The American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers
(AACRAO) website offers facts and details about this international,
nonprofit, professional organization of higher
education administrators. A number of the sections are reserved for AACRAO
members only, but the site does contain basic information about the
organization and how to get involved.
While some of the information on this site does not appear to have
been updated recently, for the most part the information is not dated and is
thus applicable to gain insights into this organization and profession. In
addition, the pages include information applicable to members of the AACRAO organization.
This site includes multiple styles, colors, and sizes of text,
making the page somewhat difficult to read. While the individual pages are
marked well, the pages themselves appear
disorganized due to the varying fonts. The initial table of contents
remains in the left-hand margin on every page, making it easy to move among
various sections.
Some of the links within the site were sluggish while others did not
open at all. In addition, a few of the outside links led to pages that were
unable to be opened. In the "Useful Links" section it would be helpful to
list basic information about the links rather than simply compile a list;
however, for the most part this section led to additional pages that were
quite relevant.
The AACRAO site offers information on the professional
organization and allows members to find out what is going on with their
profession and organization. However, information is somewhat limited for
non-members and many of the links are sluggish or broken.
While AACRAO members should regularly review the "What's New" section (and
several others), non-members may only be interested in this site as an
occasional resource.
