Course Overview:
Planning Your Financial Future will discuss and educate on financial terms and opportunities available to people and the importance of taking advantage of them NOW to work towards securing your financial future. Sign up if you are interested in learning and gaining an understanding of the financial tools available to build towards a better financial future. This course is designed to help answer questions for those at any stage of their financial journey, from those just starting out to those well on their way.
Course Outline:
The course will focus on an overview of financial planning, developing a personal and family financial plan, an understanding of financial terms and investments options, and conclude with some suggestions on how to follow through with your financial plan and some suggestions to utilize in developing your financial future.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, active participants will:
- Understand the concept of financial planning
- Create and evaluate financial, career, and personal goals
- Develop an understanding of your current budget situation
- Be familiar with financial terminology and possible investment options
- Develop an individualized budget and financial plan
- Obtain practical suggestions to utilize or think about with regards to your financial future
- Develop a comfort level in responding to and reacting to the financial decisions you will face in the future

Instructor Bio:
Steven A. Anderson is the Associate Director of Residence Life for Community Development and Residential Education at Elon University. Dr. Jerrid P. Freeman is the Associate Director of Residence Life Operations and Information Management at Elon University. Both have presented and taught numerous sessions on financial planning and are dedicated to helping others in any way possible.
